The University of Texas-Arlington Bassoon Ensemble


The University of Texas-Arlington Bassoon Ensemble, directed by Dr. Laura Bennett Cameron, is comprised of Austin Storm, second-year Master of Music in Performance,; Jazmyn Barajas-Trujillo, recently graduated senior performance major; David Plumlee, senior education major; Kendal Bolton, junior music business major; Jason Foley, sophomore music media major; and Madeline Breakfield, sophomore music education major.  Alexander Wells, senior education major, was not able to join the ensemble for IDRS.  The ensemble performs a recital each semester, including pieces for full ensemble, smaller chamber ensembles, and solos.  The ensemble members are also the founders of the Maverick Bassoon Club, a student organization which raises money to support the studio and the UTA Department of Music.  The group is excited to present the world premiere performance of Dr. George Chave’s Loftdrekar (Icelandic for Air Dragons), a new work for bassoon ensemble.
