Paulo Siqueira is a graduate fellow in bassoon at Columbus State University (GA), studying with Stephanie Patterson. Born in Brazil, he received a degree in Music Education from The University of Londrina and studied bassoon at The University of Curitiba with Jamil Bark and with Janet Grice and Elione Medeiros at The Festival de Musica de Londrina. Studies in the USA took place at Queens College and with Sasha Enegren at Montclair State University in New Jersey. While living in New York City, he played bassoon in freelance orchestras and saxophone with jazz ensembles in clubs such as the Blue Note and Jazz Forum Arts. In Brazil he played in the Wind Ensemble of Curitiba, Parana and Londrina Symphony Orchestras, and toured and recorded with Egberto Gismonti, Emilio Santiago and co-produced Janet Grice’s recent album; Brazilian Jazz Bassoon.
