Paolo Siqueira is a graduate fellow in bassoon at Columbus State U, (GA), studying with Stephanie Petterson. Born in Brazil, he received a degree in Music Education from the University of Londrina and studied bassoon at the University of Curitiba with Jamil Bark and Janet Grice and Elione Medeiros at the Fesitval de Musica de Londrina. Studies in the USA took place at Queens College and with Sasha Energren at Montclair State University in NJ. While living in NYC he played bassoon in freelance orchestras and saxophone with jazz ensembles in clubs such as the Blue Note and Jazz Forum Arts. In Brazil he played in the Wind Ensemble of Curitiba, Parana and Londrina Symphony Orchestras, and toured and recorded with Egberto Gismonti, Emilio Santiago and numerous jazz artists. He also plays saxophone, flute, and drums, produced his own CD of original music for jazz big band, and co-produced Janet Grice’s recent album, Brazilian Jazz Bassoon.
