Nikolasa Tejero

Nikolasa Tejero is the Frances Hall Hill Associate Professor of Music at The University of Tennessee at
Chattanooga, where she coaches chamber music; coordinates the Intro to Music
curriculum; teaches courses in applied clarinet, clarinet literature, and
community engagement; and researches Latin American music traditions. Dr.
Tejero has presented at conferences, festivals, universities, and other concert
venues across four continents as a clinician, lecturer, performer, and
adjudicator; as a recitalist, she has been celebrated for her creative and
engaging programs. A proponent of new music, Tejero has premiered numerous
compositions written for her and is a member of the TradeWinds Ensemble, which
records new compositions for Excelcia Music and other music publishing
companies. In her spare time, Dr. Tejero devotes her energy to creating
projects that promote the importance of the arts, literacy, musical artistry,
and community engagement in our 21st-century
society.
