Praised as “outstanding” by the New York Classical Review, Nanci Belmont is the Second Prize winner of the 2016 Fernand Gillet-Hugo Fox Competition of the International Double Reed Society. A proponent for the music of our time, she is a member of The City of Tomorrow, a wind quintet dedicated to the expansion and performance of contemporary repertoire. She has collaborated with the International Contemporary Ensemble, Ensemble Intercontemporain, and Talea Ensemble, and from 2012-2014 was the bassoon fellow with Ensemble ACJ (now Ensemble Connect) – a Program of Carnegie Hall, The Juilliard School, and the Weill Music Institute. As an orchestral musician, she has performed with groups such as the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, American Symphony Orchestra, and the New York City Ballet. In addition to performing, Nanci serves on faculty at the Longy School of Music of Bard College in Boston, MA.
