LAURA BENNETT CAMERON is the principal bassoonist of the Dallas Wind Symphony, and Assistant Professor of Bassoon and Chamber Music at the University of Texas-Arlington. She is a champion of the works of Roger Boutry, and has published the largest body of research on the composer in English. Her debut CD, “French Masterworks for Bassoon and Piano” (Indesens Classique, 2016) with the composer himself at the piano, has been praised as “virtuosic, lyrical, and engagingly musical.” Her second CD with Roger Boutry, “Encounters,” is expected out in early 2020. Laura has performed with the Dallas Symphony, Fort Worth Symphony, and the Boston Philharmonic, among others. Bennett Cameron holds a Doctor of Music from Indiana University (studies with William Ludwig), a Master of Music from the New England Conservatory (Richard Svoboda), and a Bachelor of Music from West Texas A&M University (Tina Carpenter).
