Lara Saville Dahl is currently Sr. Lecturer of Oboe and Music Survey at Georgia State University. An active performer, she is frequently engaged with the Atlanta Opera Orchestra, the Atlanta Ballet Orchestra and Columbus Symphony, and is a founding member of Atlanta Chamber Winds which can be heard on the Albany recording label. In addition, Dr. Dahl performs frequently with Chamber Music Atlanta and is an active freelance musician throughout Atlanta. She began Double Reed Day at Georgia State University in 2010 and has hosted many of the double reed’s finest players over the last nine years including Martin Schuring, Nancy Ambrose King, Humbert Lucarelli, Mark Ostoich, among many others. Dr. Dahl received her DMA and MM degrees from Arizona State University where she studied with Martin Schuring, and her BM degree from Brigham Young University, studying with Geralyn Giovannetti. In her non-oboe time, she enjoys RV’ing with her husband, 7yo and 5yo twins.
