Keith Koons is Professor of Music at the University of Central Florida. He teaches clarinet and served as Graduate Coordinator for the Music Department and Associate Director of the School of Performing. HE has performed and presented at multiple International Clarinet Association ClarinetFest and in national and international conferences of AMIS, CMS, NACWPI, NFA, NASA, IDRS, and the European Clarinet Association. Since 1992 he has been Principal Clarinet with the Brevard Symphony Orchestra in Melbourne, FL, and he also performs with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra. He holds degrees from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, the Manhattan School of Music and the University of Southern California. Previous teachers include Mitchell Lurie, Donald Oehler, and Leon Russianoff. Her served as ICA President from 2010 – 2012 and Artistic Director of ClarinetFest 2017 Orlando. He is a longtime member of the UCF Faculty Senate, and served as Chair 2015 – 2017.
