Er-Gene Kahng is Professor of Violin and Head of Strings at the University of Arkansas. She serves as Concertmaster of Fort Smith Symphony and Arkansas Philharmonic Orchestra. During the 2016-2017 academic year, she was a Visiting Fellow at Cambridge University in Cambridge, UK. Dr. Kahng has been involved in reviving the works of African-American composer, Florence Price. Her recent recordings of Price’s two violin concertos has been released through Albany Records to critical acclaim, and has been cited by The New Yorker, the New York Times, and NPR. She also recently released a recording of Handel sonatas on the Con Brio label. Dr. Kahng has recently toured Internationally, including recent trips to Singapore and England, often presenting the music of Florence Price.
