Dawn Striker-Roberts began her professional career as an Oboist in the United States Air Force Band of the West. During a career that spanned twenty-years, she performed in 22 states, 9 countries, and was a featured soloist on Oboe/English Horn for several tours. As part of the Air Force Band Program’s educational outreach, Dawn taught masterclasses to high school and college oboe students and gave presentations at two International Double Reed Conferences, ClarinetFest, and the International Flute Convention. Dawn earned a Bachelor of Science in Music Ed from Tennessee Tech University, and a Master’s in Performance from San Diego State University. She currently teaches oboe at Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, Saint Louis University, and McKendree University, maintains a large private studio and plays with various groups in the area.
