Daryn Zubke

Daryn Zubke joined the faculty at the University of Memphis as the Assistant Professor of Bassoon in 2017. He earned his DMA from the University of Kansas, MM from the Manhattan School of Music, and BM from The Juilliard School. Dr. Zubke has enjoyed frequent performances as a substitute with the Memphis Symphony, along with the Kansas City Symphony and the New York Philharmonic. Zubke is a contributor to recording reviews for the IDRS Double Reed Journal. As a Doctor of the French bassoon, Zubke conducts research and performs regularly on his French bassoon, made by Yannick Ducasse of Ateliers Ducasse in Paris. Dr. Eric Stomberg, Roger Nye, Kim Laskowski, and Judith LeClair are among his primary teachers and mentors.
