Ariana Perdosa is a Brazilian Bassoonist, Pedagogue, and more recently, Researcher. Her research focuses on the relationship between popular and classical music in Brazilian concert music repertoire for bassoon. After graduating from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (MG) in 2000, she held the position of Bassoon/Contrabassoon at the Symphonic and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Minas Gerais for more than a decade. In 2002 – 2003, while working on an advanced studies diploma in Brazilian Music Interpretation at the State University of MG, she was a member of and recorded a CD with the choro group Costa-Jaca. Ms. Pedrosa served as a Bassoon and Chamber Music lecturer at the State University of MG and as a Substitute Professor at the Federal University of MG. She is currently in the final stage of her Doctorate of Musical Arts at the University of Montreal and lives and works in Toronto, Canada.
