Dr. Alicia Cordoba Tait, D.M.A. is the Beirne Director and Professor of the Center for Catholic Studies at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas. Previously, she served as the Director of the Center for Mission and Identity, Assistant to the President for Mission Integration, Interim Director of Campus Ministry, Department Chair of Music and the Fine and Performing Arts, and Professor of Music at Benedictine University, Lisle, Illinois. Dr. Tait received degrees in oboe performance from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana; and from The Julliard School, she is the first woman to receive a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in english horn performance. Dr. Tait teaches courses in music and the humanities; and she consults and presents on leadership development, strategic planning, critical thinking, and Catholic mission and identity. An orchestral, chamber and solo musician, Dr. Tait performs internationally. She holds the position of principal English horn in the Sinfonia da Camera.
