Dr. Aaron Hill serves as Assistant Professor of Oboe and Classical Saxophone at the University of Nevada, Reno and Principal Oboe of the Wintergreen Festival Orchestra. He has previously held appointments teaching oboe at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Virginia, and James Madison University. He performs frequently with the Reno Philharmonic and Reno Chamber Orchestra, and tours nationally as a recitalist and clinician. Dr. Hill also plays Baroque oboe, improvises, works with Street Symphony Los Angeles, and has recorded a complete set of Franz Wilhelm Ferling’s 48 Famous Studies on YouTube. He earned his Bachelor of Music from the University of Michigan, Master of Music and Artist Diploma from Yale University, and Doctor of Musical Arts from James Madison University, studying oboe with Nancy Ambrose King, Richard Killmer, Stephen Taylor, and David Weiss. Dr. Hill plays a Fox Sayen oboe.
