General Dorms/Housing

Are the dorms air conditioned? 
Yes, of course.

Will I have roommates?
The dorms are 4 rooms to a quad with one bed in each room.

Are the dorms close?
The dorms are a good fifteen minute walk from the school of music. There will be shuttles throughout the day.  For those of you not wanting to lug heavy or large instruments, we will have lockers available at the school at no additional charge, however, you will need to check out a USF school of music lock which will have to be turned in at the end of your stay.  If the lock is not surrendered, we will charge a $5.00 fee for replacement.  There will be a form to sign that includes your name and address.

Holly E is 4235 USF Holly Drive and Holly F is 4237 USF Holly Drive

When are check-in times?
10 am – 12 PM Saturday – Wednesday

How and where do I check-in after hours? 
You will need to call the 24-hour housing manager’s phone number at 813-299-1913 and someone will come to check you in as needed

How do I get my parking pass? 
If you paid for a parking pass through the dorm, the permit will be given to you at check-in.  Please be aware:  parking at the dorms is its own parking pass.  To park at the school of music, you must have a parking permit for that area.

I purchased a meal plan – how does that work?
Breakfast (7:30 AM-8:15 AM)  and dinner (5:15 pm-6:00 PM) will be at Champions Choice.  The first meal begins with dinner on July 13 and ends with breakfast on July 19th. Lunches will be served at the food trucks outside the School of Music.  You will be given lunch vouchers at check-in at the school of music.

Where can I grab a quick lunch? 
We have an array of food trucks outside the music building from 11 AM – 1:00 PM every day.  If you purchased a meal plan, you will receive a voucher at check-in for your food truck lunches.


I am arriving on the 13th of July.  Will the IDRS registration desk be open?
Yes, registration will begin at 5 pm – 9 pm on Saturday, July 13th so beat the lines! July 14th registration will begin at 9AM  and continue every day until 5PM. The Registration Desk is at the School of Music


Where are the pickup points of the shuttles?
Shuttles will pick up from the four IDRS hosted hotels (Embassy Suites, Home 2 Suites, Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton Inn, and also the dorm) and deliver to the School of Music and return back to the hotels and dorm.  Shuttles will run all day and we are working out a schedule which will be posted at each destination.


Will my parking pass at the dorm be honored at the school of music?
Unfortunately, no.  Residential housing is a separate department.  This is why we offer shuttles to and from the dorm.  School of Music parking passes are available for purchase at the registration table at a cost of $22.00.  Daily parking passes can be purchased at the front entrance of the university.


What are the exhibiting hours? 
Exhibits open at 11 AM on Sunday, July 14th and close that day at 5 PM.  Monday – Wednesday 9AM – 5:00 PM, and Thursday 9 AM – 1 PM. Exhibits are at the School of Music.

When is Exhibit load in?
Exhibits loan in begins on Saturday 8am – ? and again on Sunday 8am

Practice Rooms

Where can I practice with my group?
Practice rooms are available on a first come, first served basis and can be found on the first floor as well as the second floor,  some have pianos – some do not.
